I am going to provide the RF questionnaire to you below so we can attempt to identify potential issues within the RF environment at your station. Historically, this has been the quickest route to resolution for potential station RF issues. Please provide detailed answers to the following questions.
What size is the dish? Make/Model?
Is the dish reflector solid/segmented/mesh?
Is the dish steerable or fixed?
Does this dish have both horizontal and vertical feedhorns?
Does each feed horn have a phase stable digital signal capable LNB?
Please provide the LNB make/model
How are the LNBs powered? What is the DC voltage?
Is there a Terrestrial Interference (TI) filter installed between the feedhorn and the LNB?
Please provide the TI filter make and model
Describe the cable run(s) originating from the dish and terminating
at the MagnuBox® (type, length, impedance, routed aerial or underground,
Describe the make/model of any splitters/switches in the RF path between the feedhorn and the MagnuBox® input
What type (F or N) and style RF connectors are you using (crimp or compression and
Have all RF connections been checked for moisture, corrosion and are they tight?
Has the entire cable path and components been checked for damage?
Is there anything in the immediate area that could be creating the interference? Possible interfering signal sources include other RF and/or cellular antennas, air conditioning equipment, exterior security lighting and signage, motors, marine or aviation radar, etc.
What steps have been taken so far to resolve the issue or what has
already been replaced?
