What is it?

In Edisen, you can now scan certain assets to capture attributes that can then be metatagged and so better assist with searches. Criteria include objects and activities, sensitive or restricted content (eg violence or nudity), and facial recognition (for cast members).

Supported image types: JPEG/JPG/PNG
Supported video types: MOV or MPEG-4 format with H.264 codec

15MB limit on image files and video file sizes up to 10 GB

Please note this function is only available to selected users.

Image Analysis

To analyze an image, you can find this function in the Actions icon of a supported image or video asset, or via the details drawer on the asset (scroll down to reveal the Content Analysis tab).

  1. Choose “Analyze Content” in the context menu.

  2. From the modal, you can select what data you want to retrieve:

Objects & Activities – This will detect labels for objects on specific parts of the image or general objects & activities detected in the entire image.

Content Moderation – This will detect explicit adult or suggestion content on the image.

Celebrities – This will recognize celebrities in the image.

Face Detection – This will detect specific features on the face like eyeglasses, beards etc.

3. Click “Analyze” button in the modal to start Analysis. This can take a few seconds. A progress bar in the Content Analysis window of the details drawer shows it is underway.

4. Once analyzed, you can view the data in the details drawer, under the “Content Analysis” section

While you are in the image preview, you can hover over an analysis data so a box will show to locate it in the image.

If you want to analyze multiple images at a time: you can check multiple JPEG/JPG/PNG assets & click the more icon in the multi-select toolbar. Then, you can select “Analyze Content”.

Video Analysis

As with an image, to analyze a video, you can click the Actions icon from card view or via the details drawer on the asset (scroll down to reveal the Content Analysis tab).

  1. Choose “Analyze Content” in the context menu

  2. From the modal, you can select what data you want to retrieve:

Objects & Activities – This will detect labels for objects & activities detected on a video.

Content Moderation – This will detect explicit adult or suggestion content on the video.

Celebrities – This will recognize celebrities in the video.

Shots & Technical Cues – This will detect technical cues in the video (i.e. Color Bars, Credits, Black Frames, Content)

3. Click “Analyze” button in the modal to start Analysis. Depending on how long the video is, this can take a few minutes.

4. Once analyzed, you can view the data in the details drawer, under the “Content Analysis” section

5. For each analysis data in the video, there is a corresponding timestamp. Clicking on the timestamp will play the video on the timestamp you selected.

If you want to analyze multiple videos at a time: you can check multiple MOV/MP4 assets & click the more icon in the multi-select toolbar. Then, you can select “Analyze Content”

Shot Details

If you already have an analyzed video asset, you can also choose to view objects & celebrities that can be seen in the part of the video that you are in.

  1. Click an analyzed video to preview

  2. Play the video

  3. Pause the video on any timestamp

  4. Once paused, you can expand “Shot Details” on the upper right of the preview

  5. You can view Objects & Celebrities data, if there is any.
