Prospective content contributors need to successfully complete an onboarding process and testing to become a Phase C contributor. Edisen OSC will collaborate with prospective contributors to complete the required onboarding steps, which are outlined below.

Contributor Onboarding Process

1. Contributor Onboarding Engagement: Sites that are interested in participating in the contributor onboarding process need to open an Edisen support ticket stating their intent to participate in the contributor onboarding process. You can do this by sending an email to sixtickets@onevigor.tv or by visiting support.vigorsys.com.

2. Onboarding Documentation & Kickoff Meeting: Edisen Support will respond to the onboarding tickets and provide prospective contributors with the Interconnection Contributor Onboarding Documents (including the Interconnection Contributor Onboarding Survey and the Interconnection Terms of Use Document). Edisen will also coordinate a kickoff meeting with station representatives to review the onboarding process in detail and answer any questions.

3. Interconnection Contributor Onboarding Documents: Prospective contributors need to review the documentation and complete the Interconnection Contributor Onboarding Survey. The survey collects basic information about the contributor and its capacity to participate in the onboarding process.

4. File Validation & File Upload Workflow Validation: Edisen Support will work with sites to configure and enable content contribution workflow. Edisen Support will work with site to ensure it’s team members have correct permissions/access for content contribution. Site needs to provide a couple of test files that meet the XDCAM50 ingest specification, which Edisen will validate.

5. EIDR Training: Each piece of contributor content needs a unique ID to be entered into Interconnection. EIDR is the Entertainment Identifier Registry and it generates unique IDs for content. Prospective contributors will learn how to obtain EIDR IDs by using training videos and documentation supplied by Edisen. Each site needs to complete an EIDR validation exercise, demonstrating proficiency to move on to the next onboarding step.

6. Interconnection Training: Prospective contributors will use the Edisen UI/OneVigor UI or the Myers ProTrack module to generate metadata and upload content into the Interconnection system. Content contributors will learn how to use the Interconnection system through training videos, documentation and Q&A sessions hosted by Edisen and/or Myers.

7. UAT Testing: After prospective contributors complete the File Validation, EIDR Training, Interconnection Training onboarding steps, you will need to go through the User Acceptance Test (UAT). UAT is a series of tests designed to verify the functionality of the Interconnection content ingest process. Once UAT is complete and you confirm the system functions as expected, Edisen will create your channel in the Interconnection System so that you can share you content with other PBS stations.
