Advanced network configuration
The following options are available for the user to configure (the default values might vary for different release versions):
1. Number of files allowed for parallel upload. It means how many files can be uploaded simultaneously. For now, the default value is 2.
2. Number of chunks per file allowed for parallel upload. Each file is split into chunks (by default, each chunk has 100mb size). This option means how many chunks can be uploaded simultaneously for each file.
A visual example of the first two options
3. Number of files allowed for parallel download. Similar to the (1) parameter, describes how many files can be downloaded simultaneously. There’s no option to configure chunks for download, cos each file is downloading in one stream without any parallelism.
General recommendations:
if a user would like to upload a lot of small files, it is better to reduce parallel chunks and increase the number of parallel files for uploading.
if a user would like to upload a lot of huge files, it is better to reduce the number of parallel files but increase the number of chunks.
Default parameters are well-balanced for general usage, so it is recommended to play around only if the preferences for uploading are strongly around thousands of small files or thousands of only huge files (huge - means 5GB and bigger).
